The red flags against living a productive and purposeful life. Point 6 is my absolute favorite.

If you want to live a round-the-clock, happy and productive life, here are wonderful nuggets you must hold dear.
For a moment, think of your life as a relationship with a spouse you love. Weird, I know. Things are not great currently with this spouse, but they could be better— with the right guidance and of course, knowledge.
Productivity in life is accounted for by the choices and decisions you make daily. These choices make up an integral part of your life, are things you must be known for and must remain consistent doing.
There is no possible way you can build that life you desire without tearing down and building habits in sync with the goal you want to achieve.
If you want to be productive in daily life, then below are four red flags you need to pay attention to and get rid of;
1. Multi-tasking, Distractions and Procrastination
I understand that time is never on your side and you need to get things done. However, what you haven’t realized before now is that multi-tasking activities in this relationship is a red flag.
The same way double dating, lack of efficient attention and putting off activities are red flags in a relationship, so also here. As much as you can, limit your activities/goals to a maximum of two per time; learn how to handle distractions and avoid procrastination.
It is counter-productive to attempt seeking to improve your mental health, emotions, social life and spirituality (for instance) all at once.
What you can do is learn to prioritize. Set your goals or activities according to priority or need. That way, you’d easily be able to focus on at most two core goals at a time.
Also, learning effective time management would come in handy. That way, you’d learn how to finish tasks on time without having to multitask or procrastinate.

2. Stopping After Failure
Everyone makes mistakes, and we’ve all experienced failure at some point in time. But if you stay stuck on those past mistakes— like an ex— then you’d never move forward nor truly enjoy wholistic nor productive living.
That you failed on a particular thing once— or severally— doesn’t mean you’d never succeed at it, nor is it a yardstick for you to stay down. It’s okay to sulk for a (short) while but as soon as you’re done, get yourself up and act.
What you can do is to remotivate yourself, remember why you started embarking on that venture in the first place and pick yourself back up.

In all, endure to have a never-give-up attitude and a strong mind ready to face every and anything. Don’t accept defeat easily and never give in to self-pity either. With that, you sure would be on your way to being productive in life.
3. No Boundaries
If you do not have personal boundaries in literally everything, you’re only setting yourself up for doom. You see, boundaries are not meant to restrict you. For what it’s worth, they’re meant to protect you— your mind, your peace, your time…your productivity.
It is lack of healthy boundaries that make people unintentionally become people pleasers. When you say yes to everything, no matter how inconvenient, it will eventually rob you of valuable time you could have used to achieve something tangible in your life.
What you can do is to learn the art and science of politely saying no; of refusing invitations and not feeling guilty for wanting your space sometimes.
This is what you need to do if you want to set effective boundaries for yourself and prioritize a happy life.
4. Reckless Spending
Believe it when I say how you spend will to a large extent determine how productive your life will be. It’s simple, really; what you spend the bulk of your income on reflects your values.
If you spend on mundane things, how then do you miraculously expect to have a productive life? It’s not rocket science that Whatever you spend the bulk of your money reflects your values.

However, what you can do is simply cultivate a better spending habit. Prioritize investing your money; prioritize investing in your self improvement; prioritize spending on things that in the long run, would be things you’re proud of and can boldly call your values.
5. Live Randomly
One key word for a wholistic and productive life is one lived intentionally. So, if you live randomly in life, leaving things to chance, be sure that you are far from the path of balanced and effective living.
The fastest way to kill your potentials is to leave everything to chance— your personal development, decisions, reactions to things etc. The more random your life is, the less fulfilling it’d be.
What you can do is value and practice being intentional in everything— even the little, trivial things. Intentionally make decisions, intentionally value your time, intentionally take steps towards being productive in life, and you’d surely get that life you dream of.
Also be intentional about your daily habits/routines. Remember, leave nothing to chance and your future self will love you much.
6. Quit School
Before you come for my head, what I simply mean is this; if you do not want to live a productive life, then quit learning; quit getting schooled in just anything.
Haven’t you heard that a productive mind is a progressive one? One that never stops learning. The day you stop learning, is the day you’re willingly saying goodbye to productivity and success.
What you can do is actually very simple; never.stop.learning. If you have a business, continuously learn to improve on that. But beyond that, never stop investing to improve on yourself and mind. That way, you’d be setting yourself up for massive success.
There you have it! 6 powerful things you must know if you want to stay relevant and productive in life.
