“…I’ll stop when I’m dead!”

It’s that time of the month again, and once again, it’s your girl bringing to you yet another interesting chit-chat. As you may— or may not— know, I am in love with growth, a steady, notable one at that; if you are in that category, you are on my list and I am watching. Haha, that just sounds creepy, but oh well.

Our guest today is one exceptional young man🌚; his brand and personal ability to remain consistent inspires me a lot. I mean, as early as 7:30 AM EVERYDAY, I would have gotten a message from him on WhatsApp. Don’t get the wrong message; if you are subscribed to any of his platforms or BC list, then you will get the picture.

During the course of the interview, I intentionally didn’t ask him a lot details about his brand because, let’s all agree that some things are better witnessed first-hand. After reading through, you’d definitely want to be a partaker of this pure wisdom and this is not just a hype. So, ladies and gents, brace yourselves up because it’s the one, it’s the only…

Yo! Yo! Yo!
You ready?😀

Quotekingz: I am🤭🤭🤭.

Quotekingz.

Let’s ‘officially’ get to meet you, please.

Quotekingz: Alright!
Hi Everyone, I’m Goodnews Adekpe. My friends call me Goody. 😊

I feel like you had this reply already ready. That was fast, Lol. Are you that fast typing?🌚

Quotekingz: 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha. Yes, I type really fast actually. Something I picked up from ‘Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing’ so many yeasrs ago.

Lol. Interesting. So you actually learnt how to type fast?

Quotekingz: Yes, I did.
Benefits of growing up with a desktop at home with nothing to do. Lol.

Hehehehe. Wonderful, really. When we had one at home, my siblings and I used it to play games— mortal combat especially.😂😂

Quotekingz: 😂😂😂
The games came eventually.. We rocked them oh. Very well.

Oh thank God you’re still a little normal human after all. What other odd learnings do you have up your sleeve?

Quotekingz: Hahaha.
If it’s anything, I am learning to speak Japanese🌚

Lol. I won’t even probe further on that.

So, Quotekingz, the one and famous QuoteKingz. How did that begin?

Quotekingz: Haha.
Everything started as a meditated thought in July, 2017. I was on my Industrial Attachment at a Construction Firm and I was attached to one of their active sites at NAERLS, ABU Zaria.

On that specific day, there was no active work on site. It was just two engineers and myself that had come to work.
I left them at the site office and went to inspect the site.
I lingered around the site for close to an hour, listening to a message by Dr. Myles Monroe (of blessed memory) titled “The Media Mandate of the Kingdom”.

(Zoey grabs virtual popcorn).

Quotekingz: Now prior to that, I had started making quotes.
Nothing serious at the time, just thoughts that’d come to me occassionally, and they were personal.
On this faithful day, however, after I listened to the Message, I received a conviction in my Spirit to begin a Movement.
Right there on the ground floor of the site, my mind started to open.

Ideas of projecting my thoughts onto a larger platform, reaching out to as many people as possible.
That was where the name “Quotekingz” came to Me.
I wrote It down on my Mobile Phone, so i wouldn’t forget. And as i went home that day, I continued to plan and strategize on how I’d get all of it started.

Woow!
Oh cool.

Quotekingz: This was the day Quotekingz as a movement was birthed.

This is one of the most beautiful start-up stories I’ve heard or come across in a while. Amazing, really.

Quotekingz: Awww. Thank You so much.

Quotekingz.

What excites you most about your notable growth— where you started and where you are now?

Quotekingz: Wow! We’ve come a long way from 2017. I think the most exciting experience is the lessons I learnt as a person while trying to get the movement up and running.

I learnt patience, resilience and consistency. It changed my life and my work ethic.
When the movement officially started, we were mostly aggressive on Instagram, with a significant presence on WhatsApp. Given its a Social Media-based motivational/self development platform, we definitely needed to extend our reach.

We posted consistently on WhatsApp and Instagram for a year and we started to gain traction, especially on WhatsApp.

So basically, for you it’s the lessons you’ve learned, yh?

Quotekingz: Yes, the movement is all about discovering our inherent potentials and exploiting them to become who we are meant to be, and the reality of that vision started with me as a person. I am one of the first beneficiaries of the movement.

Long story short, today we’re active on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram and Pinterest; reaching thousands of people on a daily basis across Nigeria, Malawi, Zambia and about three French speaking African countries.
We now also make daily quotes in English and French Languages, for farther reach.

Whoaaa! That’s huge.
Did you ever envision QuoteKingz going so far, especially in such a short time?

Quotekingz: No, not exactly.
But with growth and conviction that what I was doing mattered, I began to understand the scope and reach of the mlovement, and the expectations began to increase. I’m grateful for how far we’ve come, but I also know we could and will be more! Big plans are in the works and I’m so excited, I cant wait for everything to come to fruition.

With this level of achievement, it’s easy to stop pushing. What keeps you pushing, and when do you think is the time to stop?

Quotekingz: Haha, I’ll stop when I’m dead🌚🌚. On a more serious note, I believe the vision for the movement is not entirely my doing. It was received and I am privileged to be the receiving vessel. The time to stop will be when the Giver says it is time.

Gbam! I love the first sentence.

Quotekingz: What keeps me going is the responsibility I have placed upon myself to make sure I fulfill Purpose. The movement is a major expression of what I’ve been created to do, I’m just living my best life😎. That’s all the motivation I need to keep going.

Quotekingz.

The motivator’s motivation.

Do you have any mentors in regards to the movement?

Quotekingz: Yes! For people, I follow Les Brown and Eric Thomas. They’re true motivational speakers. On the aspect of development, I follow Zig Ziglar, John Maxwell and James Clear. For Platforms, I have House of Leaders and Motivating Force. They’re majorly active on Instagram.

I forgot to add here that the main methodology of the Movement is based on a technique inspired by Dr Myles Monroe. It’s something I will reveal to the world one day, in the fullness of time. But for now, anticipate😆

Lovely! I’ve heard some misconceptions that since you are doing a ‘God-given vision’, you don’t need mentors. What’s your take?

Quotekingz: Hehe. First of all, the Holy Spirit is also a mentor. He will guide you into all truth and teach you things. Part of what He does is guide you to people (God’s Children) who have gone ahead of you so they will teach you. Show you paths to follow so you can avoid making unnecessary mistakes and experiencing redundant delays.

We all need mentorship. Someone taught you how to walk, speak, bath, drive, work. Imagine if you had to learn all these things on your own, no parents, you’re just placed on the earth and have to somehow come up with these things yourself. You might probably be able to but it will take you a long time.

The significance of mentorship is to shorten the learning curve and increase your speed as you grow.

Never underestimate their place. It is deadly. You will make mistakes you could’ve avoided because you refused to submit to a mentor.

Preach it!💪🏽

Let me let you in on one secret. Your consistency inspires me🥰. How do you do it?

Quotekingz: Hahaha. Wow, thank you. I’ll summarize the method in one sentence; When it’s hard, go harder.
The day you wake up feeling like you want to quit is the day you should put in the best of efforts. Push through the feeling, push through the reluctancy, and get it done!

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Wonderful perspective. I’d keep that in mind, as I’m sure a lot of people would as well.

I’m sure it hasn’t been an easy path; what has the experience been like?

Quotekingz: It has been far from easy o. Hmmm.. hmmmm.
Hmmmmmm.

The experience has been humbling. To be honest, a time came when it wasn’t even about the difficulty anymore because I became numb to that. It was now about staying true to the purpose of what you started.

Because you will experience a lot of things. Some days you will wake up and be in complete doubt. You will question if all you’re doing is worth it, if it’ll make any meaning in the future. Some days you’ll wake up to little or zero visible support from people you expected to support you. It will hurt, it’ll be devastating. I pray you receive the courage to push through all of that.
Because that’s where a lot of people quit.
If you however, are able to take yourself out of all of what’s happening at the moment and look at the bigger picture, then you’ll be able to persevere.
Consistency isn’t just about repetition, it’s also a function of perseverance and growth.

If you’re consistent, and you’re not growing, your consistency is happening wrongly.

Hmmm. True
Wow! I never thought of it that way. Thank you.

Quotekingz: Yeah, you should get better as you continue. They say practice makes perfect. That can be applied here.

So, as the motivational speaker that you are, what sage words are you leaving us with?

Quotekingz.

Quotekingz: Aspire to perspire, so you can retire with achieved desires. 🙆🏾‍♂️😂😂🙆🏾‍♂️🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃

My God! That initial quote made me dislike some particular set of motivational speakers for a while.😂😂😂😂😂 Thank God for people like you changing the narrative.

Quotekingz: I always found it funny how people think making words rhyme together is Motivational speech. Haha. It’s not about communicating words to people; it’s about prompting their spirits into action.

Word! (Don’t “leaf” me)😂😂

Quotekingz: Hahaha. Okay, what SERIOUS words do I leave you with? 🤔

Your life is not a fluke. You are not here by mistake. There is a reason for your existence. The day you find out why is the day you begin to live. You can go kinetic!

Aye, this wisdom here. They should be paying you for dropping those lines, and paying me for bringing this together, haha.

Quotekingz: Abiiii😂😂
The things we do for Purpose.

Thank you so much for your time.
Thank you for giving of yourself. We were blessed. Amen?🤭

Quotekingz: We were blessed. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭 Thank You So Much Mama. 🤭🤭🤭

I truly had a lovely time. Nagode😁😁

Quotekingz: 🙇🏿🙇🏿🙇🏿🙇🏿🙇🏿😊😊😊😊😊
I’m so excited.
