One story I love and still remember almost vividly from a literature class is that of the Achilles’.
The myth of the Greek warrior, Achilles— as narrated by my lecturer— states that he was an exceptionally strong man.

While he was yet a baby, his mother held him and dipped him in a River. That River was thus the source of his great strength.
However, since he was held in by the heel region, those spots didn’t get dipped in. And since his heels didn’t get dipped in, his overall great strength had a limitation. A weakness.
And so, that was the weakness of this exceedingly great warrior, who was strong and powerful.

Now, let’s come back to earth— or our immediate lives.
Our strengths and weaknesses make up integral components of life. Every temperament is characterized by strengths and weaknesses.
Tim Lahaye’s “Why you Act the way you do” is a great exposé on that topic— of the topic of temperaments and the exact strengths and weaknesses associated with each.
Often times, after discovering your or someone else’s weakness, we tend to compound on such, pick on them and ignore their strengths.
I don’t know the science behind such, but perhaps because it makes us feel more perfect in our own weaknesses.
Truth, that’s just petty.
We all have weaknesses, as well as strengths— you do, and I do too.
Accept yourself and people completely— weakness and all. Never let anyone make you feel less because your weakness is evident, nor should you ever make anyone feel less either.
I just wanted to remind you today, that your strengths make you an amazing person, and your weakness doesn’t make you any less.
You can improve on your strengths to male them better, but you can also work on those weaknesses and turn them into strengths.

The person you look up to, whom you believe has no weakness or Achilles heel, has only mastered the art of working on such weaknesses.
It’s in our design already; so, rather than beat yourself up over it, embrace yourself and IMPROVE!
Having a weakness doesn’t make you a failure; it only makes you human.

So, darling, embrace yourself.
