Okay, that’s a really weird title, and I realize that.🤭
But before you write off my titling skills— which I admit is not top-notch — pay attention to what I have to say…or write😁

On a certain day, my mom mentioned she wanted to buy plantains (raw). Much later after the utterance, a man hawking plantains was passing by.
However, before we could get up from where we were, and cover the little distance between us, he had passed.
Bummer! We had missed it. We thought that was the end, but hours later, another came passing by.
This time, we both didn’t call out to him loudly enough, so we missed buying the plantains…again.
Well, by now we were already beating ourselves up over it. Missing an opportunity once could be likened to a mistake, but how about a second time, and indeed third time?
Yeap, that’s right; we missed buying plantains thrice.
When the third hawker passed, we relaxed, “surely, another would pass by later today.”
Soon, we got thinking “what is happening today?”
Well, truth is, there was nothing unusual about the day. There was also nothing wrong with the men either, but everything wrong with us.
And know this; when we were finally ready to buy, none passed anymore.

Liken my plantain story to life. Yes, life.
How many times has an opportunity passed and for whatever reason you tell yourself, you let it slide?

How many times do you merely feel too lazy to chase it down and put in the effort?
How many times do you tell yourself “surely another would swing by”?

Opportunities sometimes show up in disguise. And are usually very good at playing hide-and-seek. They come when you were not really seeking, yet seem to hide when you go hunting.
Have you ever been in such a situation? Where an opportunity comes knocking when you feel most unprepared, and so you let it go.
And when you finally feel prepared, every door seems to be shut in your face. Has this happened to you in one way or another?

There’s something placed on a wall in my room, it goes thus;
“Opportunities are right in front of your eyes; look a little closer and you’d realize they’ve been right in front of your eyes the whole time.”

So, yes. Look a little more closely and you’d discover them for what they really are— opportunities in disguise.
I’m leaving you with just three words today; BUY THE PLANTAIN!

If you forget anything, remember plantains, and remember to relate it to life.
Sending love and light your way.
Cheers to steady growth,
Zoey.
