Still want to be spoon-fed?

In the spirit of getting myself acquainted with the entire site, knowing where some things are and where they are not, I got lost.

That’s always frustrating, you know. Getting lost and being clueless, that is.

I am not a techy person, so naturally, I had someone to help. And as soon as I developed issues— even the slightest of them—I ran back, unashamed.

One of the days, I was trying to remember where I could edit my tagline. I had done it twice before that day, but suddenly it felt like I had amnesia. I just couldn’t find where to.

That sucked!

I went around and around in circles. I had already been searching for about 30 minutes and then I finally asked my-Mr-tech-guy, lol. However, before he could explain (since it was via chat), I found it on my own.

Yaay!

The proceeds of the conversation is what inspired this post.

“Good! You have to learn to be able to handle every part of the system yourself….”
..
..
Once upon a time, I was an extremely lazy kid. I was to the extent that it affected my eating habits.

Lifting the spoon to my mouth always felt like so much work. It was that bad that my dad was still spoon-feeding me while in primary school.

Hey! Don’t judge 🙅‍♀️

Not like I didn’t feel the hunger like piercing enemy swords; I did. But I’d rather go to bed like that. Yes, I was that lazy.
..
..
Does that sound like you already? Or should I break it further down?

A lot of times, you want to be spoon-fed in everything; too lazy to make efforts by yourself. Not even willing to move a muscle.

You see, there’s a time when you are actually expected to be spoon fed, but not forever. You have to grow up some time.

Truth is, there are levels you must rise to where it is expected that you must stand on your own and ‘feed’ yourself, and in the long run, others as well.

That doesn’t mean you become an island, no! You still get support here and there, yet firm enough to stand on strong feet.
..
..
“It’s your business, you have to understand every facet of it; ofcourse I’d always be there to assist any time you need me to.”
..
Those were Mr-tech-guy’s sage words to me; and now, I’m out to really learn how the whole system works.

You should too— whatever it is you need to begin to take charge of yourself.

So, grab that spoon by the handle and learn to feed yourself.

It’s a fun process, you’d see.

Cheers to steady growth.

Love,

Zoey.
