Before we go in deep, let’s establish some things;

What is The Right Mindset

The right mindset is, quite plainly, the mindset that is right for you and your life. Let me break it down some more; the right mindset is having growth mindsets in every area of your life. It is developing your thought patterns to be in sync with the realities you want to see portrayed in your life for real.

While the ‘right mindset’ might be relative, it is safe to assume that no one wakes up and intentionally decides to not want to succeed in life, health, finances etc. It can therefore be concluded that the ‘right mindset’ is one─ or set of mindsets─ that breaks your briers and brings you over to the winning side. Agreed? Okay, glad you do.

Having the right mindset is the foundation for every successful thing/feat you amount to. Because let’s face it, if you don’t believe that your business can earn you billions of dollars, you’d remain at the level of earning millions, or perhaps thousands.

Whatever reality you seek, let your mind see the possibility first. Here’s a little trick about the mind; the moment it clearly sees and believes the possibility of a thing, it comes up with the necessary tools and steps which you need to act on to make that possibility a success.

All you initially need to do is have the right mindset to help you on your path. And do note that the mind doesn’t have a filter for negatives or positives, nor can it tell when you were only telling a joke or didn’t mean what you said. As long as you repeat it frequent enough for your mind to hold on to and believe then that’s what you get.

One time, I was making use of a really sharp knife. It was absolutely new, so yeah, pretty sharp. I kept repeating to myself, “I don’t want to cut my hand.” I repeated it many times and before I was done using it, I had this very deep cut on my palm and it bled for so long.

Just like you may probably be wondering, I wondered too. I mean, I specifically told my subconscious mind that I didn’t want to cut my mind. And if it’s such a loyal disciple as we all have been told, why didn’t it listen and obey?

It was only then that I learned a powerful lesson: the mind sees in pictures and does not have the ability to filter what you say. The mental picture that kept coming to mind as I used the knife was a deep cut and so much blood. And each time I had those mental flashes, I quickly uttered my rehearsed line.

So, really, it’s not just about what you say, but about what your mind sees. I hope this part helps you already on how to go about your mindsets and creating only the reality you want.

PRAYING THE RIGHT MINDSET INTO YOUR LIFE

Prayer is about communication, right? So, basically, communicating to God the kind of mindsets you want to have.

You may ask if this is of any importance since your mind is capable of creating these realities itself. Well, here’s why;

Basically, every mindset you’d need for success in all and any area of life are found in the Bible as the promises of God to you. The earth is governed by laws, and if you know and apply these laws, you’d get the results you seek, not minding who you are.

However, there’s something called ‘ease’ when you partner with God, a superior personality, for answers and results. Also, often times, what would take you years of trial and error to discover would be easily accessible and discovered by you if you’d but read Scripture.

If, for instance, you’re aware of what God’s promises for you as regards provision are, you won’t have to spend so much time and energy trying to reinforce that mindset in your mind.

Besides, acknowledging those mindsets and rehearsing them often are prayers too. Praying helps you build intimacy, and gives you an understanding of things, even deeper than the need you’re praying for.
Truth is, if you want to reinforce these mindsets the prayer-kinda-way into your life, here’s what you need to do;

  • SEEK OUT

The first step is to identify the limiting thoughts you need to call out and seek uplifting mindsets in place. For instance, if you need to replace mindsets of scarcity with mindsets of abundance, then seek out what the Bible says about abundance.

Trust me, you’d find a lot, so seek the one(s) that most resonate with you and your need. If you need more than one, then by all means take as many as will satisfy your heart. Thanks to Google, your search has been made easy.

  • UNDERSTAND AND MEDITATE

Meditation is an intricate part of the process you can’t afford to skip. You’d need to understand that Scripture in and out of context, and that’s what meditation helps you achieve. Even after you’ve gained some level of understanding on it, meditate some more.

Basically, what this does is help you know and understand it enough to visualize and believe what it says. Remember we established that the mind only sees and comprehends in pictures. In this case, you ponder deeply upon it till your mind sees it so clearly.

PRO TIP: This is one effective way to study your Bible and find answers and understanding.

  • PRAY IT IN

Now, using this new level of understanding, this new belief you’ve established, what’s left is for you to communicate your desires to God. Take His words back to Him. Remind Him of what He’s promised in His Word.

At this point, you’re not just praying and uttering words randomly, but rather expressing a new mindset you now believe. You can call these utterances your positive affirmations. And I’m guessing you know the place and importance of positive affirmations. Yes?

While writing this portion of the article, I remembered something I read from a devotional once. The title was Praying Effectively. This topic spanned for a period of five days in which they gave steps to take for effective prayer using the acronym P.R.A.Y. When you come to pray;

P– praise
R– repent
A– ask (the requirements for asking are in accordance to God’s Word, to glorify His name and something that brings you joy)
Y– yield (where you get to submit and listen)

I pray your prayer life takes a new turn and you learn to effectively pray the right mindset into your life.

God isn’t just interested in your spiritual life; He is wonderfully interested in every little detail about you.

Did you find this helpful? Well, check back again, as often as you breathe. And don’t forget to share with someone or more who needs this.

Cheers to steady growth.
